Parilla was one of many small motorcycle manufacturers that sprung up after World War II. Parilla motorcycles were very well engineered with many innovative features, and before long many were modified for racing. Parilla also built GP race bikes, scooters and stationary engines. This Gran Sport has been restored with the exception of the gas tank, which is original. The color and striping on the Parilla Gran Sport are very similar to the Norton Manx racing model, evidence of Parilla’s admiration for the marque. By 1967, with falling sales, Parilla discontinued motorcycle production.
